HiSeedTech is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the second edition of the Tecnimede Open Innovation Competition, an initiative developed in partnership with our member company Tecnimede Group to accelerate breakthrough innovations in Pharmaceutical Technology.

The Competition aims to recognise and support transformative solutions in Pharmaceutical Technology, including innovations that meaningfully improve the development, design, manufacturing or delivery of pharmaceutical drugs and medications.

At the centre of the Competition is the Jorge Ruas Award, a prestigious €100,000 prize created in honour of one of Tecnimede’s founders. The Award supports innovators developing high-impact pharmaceutical technologies and reinforces Tecnimede’s mission to foster scientific and industrial progress.

The call welcomes applications from researchers, startups, and pharmaceutical companies developing projects between TRL 3 and TRL 7 that demonstrate:

• Alignment with the Competition’s focus on advancing Pharmaceutical Technology
• Strong scientific and technological foundations
• Clear potential for clinical or market impact
• A robust intellectual property and regulatory strategy

For the 2026 edition, the Competition places a special focus on four priority fields:

• Drug Delivery Systems
• Drug Repurposing
• Biopharmaceutics
• Personalised Medicine
